Rison Arkansas: The Lanwood-Risonian Civic/Social Club,Inc. presents its second annual Juneteenth Celebration, Friday, June 16, and Saturday, June 17, 2000. Lanwood Alumni will be the special guests for this year's events. This years events will include a Banquet Friday night, June 16 at 8:00 p.m. on the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Saturday, June 17, 2000, a parade down Main Street Rison at 10:00 a.m. Following the parade, activities for the entire family will be held at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Little Rock
Third Juneteenth Celebration:  "Reflect, Rejoice, Renew - The Legacy Continues" on Friday, June 16, 2000, 7:30 p.m., at the Univ Adult Leisure Ctr sponsored by the Central Arkansas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.  The event will consist of a program, buffet dinner, silent auction, dramatic presentation by Toni Martin, musical selections by Gospel Singer Sarah Sanders and a dance by the St. Mark Praise Dancers. Pine Bluff
The African American Advisory Committee of the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas will celebrate Juneteenth on Monday, June 19, 2000 from 4:30p.m. until 9:30p.m. "Remembering Our Heritage" is the theme for this celebration. A re-enactment of the signing of "The Emancipation Proclamation," historical and community speakers, choirs, praise teams and a fashion show are just a few of the scheduled activities. The culminating feature will be a stage production entitled "The Women" written and directed by Mr. Curtis Tate of the Arkansas Territorial Restoration. Admission to all activities is free. Come out and enjoy an afternoon designed to emphasize the education and achievements of African Americans. The Arts and Science Center is located at 701 Main Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The University of Arkansas is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Northwest Arkansas Juneteenth Celebration on Sat, Jun 17, 00 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Walker Park in Fayetteville. This celebration features a community-wide picnic with choirs, local bands, childrens' carnival games, voters' registration booth, health information, as well as police and fire department representatives.
Crossett
Crossett, Arkansas will have it's Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17, 2000 at the Florida Street Playground. There will be fun, games, and refreshments. Everyone is invited, come and help us celebrate a tradition that deserves our best.
Forrest City
The St. Francis County Branch of the NAACP Youth Council in cooperation with the Forrest City Chapter of the National Associstion of Blacks in Criminal Justice, The Forrest City Community Voices Center and Walmart, Inc. will be hosts to the Juneteenth Day Observance on Monday June 19th at the Forrest City Community Voices Center on Division street. In conjunction with the observance, the Youth Council will be presenting it's first annual Black Heritage Awards. The purpose of the award is to honor those who have made outstanding achievements and/or significant impact on establishing and/or carrying out innovative initiatives that improves or enhances the social, political, educational, economical, spiritual and physical conditions for our people in St. francis County. Categories include: Business/Industry, Civic Organizations, Civil Rights/Race relations, Community Services/Activist, Church, Education/Educator, Humanitarian, Political/Politician/Elected Official, Youth Leadership and Youth Role Model. Mrs. Stephanie Bryant and Mrs. Shirley Harvell serve as co-chairs of the event.
