- The African American Heritage Foundation of Maui proudly sponsors its 2nd
annual Juneteenth Celebration. The event will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2000 at Kalama
Beach Park in Kihei (across from Foodland) on the island of Maui. The Celebration begins
at 2:00 p.m. and continues through until 5:30 p.m. Entertainment, children games, and
educational programs are planned. A Little Ms. and Mr. Nubian Pageant will be a part of
the day's events. The pageant is open to all children under 16 years of age. Entrantants
will be asked to share "The Meaning of Juneteenth". This may be expressed by way
of song, dance, poetry, dramatical reading, or personal narrative statement.
Pre-registration for the pageant is required. Hot Dogs, drinks, and paper products will be
provided. All attendees are invited to join us in a potluck meal. So, please bring a dish

join us in a day of fellowship and Aloha.

will host our 2nd annual Juneteenth Potluck on Sunday June 18, 2000 at Kalama Park from
2:00pm-5:30pm. We will have a Mr. & Miss Juneteenth Pageant for the children where
everyone will be a winner. We will have a sweet potato pie contest. Fun and games for
everyone!
