June 14, 2008 - Quality Entertainment - The first annual Juneteenth in Montgomery, Alabama is being held In Shopping Square on Woodmere Blvd in Montgomery, Alabama 36117 at 11:00 AM through 7:00 PM. There will be fun and Games for the Children; also there will be NFL players signing autographs for the fans. There will be music, food, and drinks for everyone. It will be live groups performing such as: Gospel, rap, R&B, Country Latin, and rock. You will be able to reister to vote for the up coming Election So come out and be a part of history

June 17, 2006 - By proclamation of the Huntsville city mayor, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated will host its 12th Annual Juneteenth Festival “A Celebration of Life, Truth and Freedom”
on Saturday, June 17th, 2006 on the Campus of Alabama A&M University. The event is free to the public and will take place between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. There will be a variety of activities and entertainment for children and adults. Some of the various activities include a talent show featuring local elementary and high school cheerleading squads, dance teams, dramatic multicultural presentations performed in song and dance, games for kids and performances by Burwell’s Taekwondo Academy and many others. Local vendors will provide food, drinks as well as a variety of other products and services. Other community service organizations will be in attendance to register voters, screen for Sickle Cell and check blood pressure.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, a certified 501C-3 non-profit organization, was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., January 9, 1914, by three young African-American male students. The founders of the organization wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. Today, ninety years later, Phi Beta Sigma has blossomed into an international organization of leaders striving to uphold our Fraternity Motto "Culture for Service and Service for Humanity".  It is in keeping with the spirit of the Fraternity Motto that Phi Beta Sigma organizes and supports numerous activities and projects in the Huntsville community.

This Juneteenth event--"An Emancipation Celebration" is the largest program of its kind in Northeast Alabama.  Activities include Blues and R&B bands, live entertainment, dancing, talent contest, a step competition, Hip-Hop block party, Gospel concert & choir sing, food vendors, arts & crafts, business exhibits and kiddie rides. The program is scheduled to run from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Bring your lawn chairs and stay all day. Free Admission. It’s that time again! BCRI’s Tenth Annual Juneteenth Festival will take place June 3-5. The event will kick off with a spectacular concert Friday night featuring the “Angel of the Night” Angela Bofill at UAB's Alys Stephens Center. Tickets are available at BCRI and/or by calling 205-975-ARTS. On Saturday we’ll have our FREE, day-long street festival with lots of music, fun for kids, food and free admission to the Institute. June 12, 2005 -Metropolitan United Methodist Church - Community Wide Celebration with local talent, choirs and the nationally known "Alabama Boys" gospel group as featured performers.

The Alabama Department of Revenue will host its Sixth Juneteenth Luncheon and Diversity Awareness Program on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 11:30 a.m.  This year’s event will be held at the RSA Plaza Terrace, 770 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama.  Our theme is “Perfecting Unity through Education and Building a Better Workplace through Diversity.”  The speaker this year is State Representative John F.
