June 19-20, 2010 -
Our event takes place on June 19-20, 2010. We begin
at 11am on both days. Some of the plans for
the weekend include a Gospel Explosion, tribute to the
African American soldiers who worked on the Alcan
Highway, educational movies, skit on the delivery of the
Emancipation Proclamation in Texas, political speakers
and more. There will also be a special Talent
Competition for the chance to appear on stage on July
11, 2010 at the Performing Arts Center with David &
Tamela Mann, the stars of the Tyler Perry sitcom "Meet
The Browns". Follow this "link" to view his video remix
"Dis Is Yo Gandiddy". This event takes place on June
19th on the main stage. Mke D of Mike Al Productions
will be performing live comedy on the stage. Joining him
will be Ken the Comic and others for a special
performance also on June 19th. Come on out for the best

We are pleased to
invite you to our 14th Annual Juneteenth
Celebration in
Anchorage
Alaska
on June 19-21, 2009
on the Delaney Park Strip.
Our theme is “Remembering
Our Roots” as we pay tribute to the accomplishments
of African Americans in
Alaska.
We will be spotlighting the African Americans who worked
on the Alaska Canadian Highway that connects
Alaska
to the Lower 48 states. There
will also be various forms of entertainment and
vendors at the event to uphold the tradition of
coming together in remembrance, enjoying good food,
entertainment, and learning more about the African
American people. |

Notes, a small, locally owned, desktop publishing
company, are honored to celebrate Juneteenth with the
Fairbanks Community. June 18, at Pioneer Park, Moose
Creek Pavilion, 9am - 3pm. City Councilman, Scott
Kawasaki, Special Juneteenth Prayer Service, youth
games, food and fun are scheduled for the day and for
the enjoyment of all. The community is invited. |

Juneteenth is a nationwide annual celebration of freedom
and diversity. There will be activities for everyone,
including music, food, workshops, a youth job fair, a
golf tournament, rallies, an essay contest, a barbecue,
youth job fair and speeches. The festival is free and
runs noon-10 p.m. Fri., June 17 and 1-8 p.m. Sat., June
