variety of food. Entertainment begins at 4:00 p.m.
Gospel groups. At 6:00 p.m. blues begin with Keith and
Margie, followed by Denise Lasalle and T.K. Soul. All
actvities are free and opened to the public. 12,000
attended last year.

13-15,2008 - Juneteenth Ohio - The Juneteenth Ohio
Celebration will include three day of celebration and
events -- including: City Wide Drum Call, Honoring
Community Elders, Juneteenth Re-enactment, Citywide
Talent Show, “New School Concert”, Miss Black Ohio Swim
Suit contest., Author’s Corner, Children’s Pavilion
(Under Ground Rail Road Journey), Black Inventors
Exhibit, Health Pavilion, Cultural Marketplace, Soul
Food Pavilion, Rhythm & Blues Concert, Gospel
Concert, and Jazz Concert. The Celebration will
culminate with a Father's Day Tribute on Sunday. |

- The East Mississippi Conference Lay Organization of
the A.M.E. Church is sponsoring a Juneteenth Celebration
at Pearl Street AME Church, 2519 Robinson Road, Jackson,
MS, Saturday, June 14, 2008, 11:00 a.m.
The commemorative program will start at 11:00 a.m. and
feature local church choirs, praise dancers and
speakers. A Community Health Fair will take place to
check blood pressure as well as pass out health related
literature. An art exhibit will feature art work
from local Jackson, Mississippi artist Tony Davenport.
Mississippi farm raised catfish plate lunches will be
sold for $8.00 |

"Sankofa, Reaching back for our African Culture," is the
theme for this year's Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
This year will mark the eleventh year that "Juneteenth"
is celebrated in Natchez, MS and it is expected to
attract hundreds throughout the Miss-Lou Region as well
as Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. The goals of the
celebration are to raise awareness of the cultural
wealth of the region and to purchase historical markers
for significant African-American sites and events. St
Johns United Methodist Church will be the site for
this year's Marker
The 11th Annual Juneteenth celebration will be held on
June 17th-18th, 2005 in Natchez, MS and will host
several important events.
On June 17th 7:00 p.m.- The Juneteenth Committee
will present "A Splash of Color" Fashion Show, followed
by a "Taste of Soul" (Soul food prepared by - local
chefs). This event will take place at the Natchez
Community Center of Franklin Street. Grooveline wil
provide dance music after the fashion show. Donation for
this event will be $10.00. Tickets may be purchased at
the Natchez Visitors Center. On
June 18th, the activities wil began at 9:00a.m..
There will be a Libation Ceremony at the "Forks of The
Roads "enslavement Market site, Which is at the
intersection of D'evereaux Drive, Saint Catherine, and
Liberty Road. The Libation Theme is "Remembering the
Greatest Generation of Enslaved Foreparents" giving them
thanks for our heritage. In conjunction with the
Adams County Youth Rodeo Club, Inc., there will
be a Youth and Adult Rodeo at the H&M Arena, 314 B
Cranfield Road. This event will begin at 3:00
p.m.. Concessions will be provided. Admission for
this event is $5.00 per car.
Juneteenth is a total community event and we encourage
you and your group or family to cook out and enjoy the
entire day with us. The community would like to thank
