19th Annual Juneteenth Cultural Arts Festival - "Celebrating Freedom & Hope"

WHEN:  Thursday, Friday, & Saturday
Thursday, the festival is replete with performing artist representing many genres and begins with a Salute to Our Future with our Youth performing in song, dance, and the spoken word at the Marshall White Community Center from 8-11 p.m.

Friday, evening will be our Jazz Festival, featuring Saxophonist Marion Meadows and a host of local and regional Jazz artist.  The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets: $20

Saturday the festival concludes with live performances from morning to night! There will be  community & corporate vendors, food, and historic and educational presentations, hip-hop, R & B, the spoken word and a health & wellness fair.  The day wouldn't be complete without taking guest to their musical roots with our Gospel Music Celebration, featuring National recording artist Darwin Hobbs, the Utah Mass Choir under the Director of Norris Garner, with a special guest appearance by Kansas City Songbird, Zenobia Smith.

June 15-17, 2007 - Project Success/Utah Juneteenth Commission - The festival is the largest African American Celebration in the State of Utah with over 15,000 festival goers in attendance. The event includes food, crafts, and art vending booths; live entertainment on stage continuously (Jazz, R&B, Blues, Hip-Hop) and a Gospel Music Fest on Sunday. Local and national performing artist will be on hand. There will be supporting activities the entire week including an outdoor Movie Night at the Amphitheater on Monday night at 8pm; a Slam Dunk and 3pt Shoot-Out on Tuesday at the Marshall White Center (registration available) at 6:30 pm; Harambee Tobacco Prevention - Hip-Hop Concert and Rap Battle on Thursday at the Amphitheater at 6:30 pm; Jazz & Blues Concert on Friday and tickets are on sale.  The Festival Continues all day Saturday-12 noon-10 pm & Sunday, 1-8 p.m.  Join us for a host of activities for the entire family as we Celebrate Father’s Day and The Utah African American Experience!  The events will conclude with a Juneteenth Scholarship Banquet on JUNE 19TH .  Join us for the greatest Family Reunion in town!  Booths and Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

16th Annual Juneteenth Cultural Arts Festival will be held June 17-19th at the Ogden City Amphitheater, located in downtown Ogden, UT.  Now in it's sixteenth year, the festival represents the largest African American event in the state and intermountain west.  The weekend celebration is the place to be with performing artist from across the country, the Gospel music festival on Sunday and a host of family centered activities to share the history, the culture and the pride of our African lineage.  Join us for Utah's largest African American Celebration! Cost is $5.00 for 12year old & up
